40 weeks 1 day...

Hmmmmf.

We had our 40 weeks 1 Day appointment today, didn't really get great news...

There is absolutely no change from last week, except I lost 1 pound and my blood pressure was better.

The doctor said, "I'm pretty sure you won't be seeing us again next week..." and then proceeded to make an appointment for April 18th, and scheduled a Biophysical Profile and Non-Stress Test for the same day. He said that there was no medical reason for an induction, yet, and I have not progressed far enough on my own for an elective induction.

So we're still baking.

Hope everyone is having a nice day! I wish it was at least sunny out so we could go for a walk....

39 Weeks Doctor's Appointment

I know, it seems like I was just there... I was. Today was the only day this week that my doctor was available, so I went back after 5 days for a checkup...

BP: 122/80
Weight: +1/2 lb
Belly Measures: 39cm
Fetal Heart Rate: 137bpm
Nothing Else Changed: almost 2cm dilated, 80% effaced, -1 station

Doctor's Appointment

Ahh yes, we're still baking :)

BP: 122/80
Weight: +0
Belly Measures: 39cm
Fetal Heart Rate: 145bpm

1 1/2 cm dilated
80% effaced
-1 station

So we're getting closer. I guess all the walking I've been trying to do is helping... I guess I'll keep doing it :) She didn't say much other than that she'd see us next week... unless.... :-)

Next appointment is April 3rd.

37 weeks 3 days

Our internet was broken for most of the day...

Not much has changed at the doctor's appointment today since last week...

BP: 120/80
Fetal HR: 143
Belly Measures: 37cm
Weight: +1lb
Still 1cm and 50% effaced, but baby has moved another cm down into the pelvis... NO WONDER I CAN'T WALK!!

Dr. Said we're definitely on the way, but it could still be awhile before things really get moving... And she rolled her eyes when I told her what the other doctor said 2 weeks ago about the "larger than average" baby... She said, "There is absolutely NO reason to think that..."

Found out that I am Group B Strep positive, which just means I'll be hooked up to IV antibiotics once I get to the hospital... not really a big deal, just that you're not allowed to move around with an IV at Magee, so I'll have to stay in bed once I'm there...

So we're in good shape still... but I'm still going to start doing jumping jacks, riding down bumpy roads, eating pineapple, etc. Ha ha ha. Being that it is so hard to move around, I'm feeling like a beached whale... at least after the baby's here I'll be tired, but actually able to move a little bit easier... I'm not used to this enormous belly... I swear that I haven't been so skinny in my legs and butt and shoulders in a LONG time, but my belly is just so huge.

Oh well... small price to pay... for a little while longer!

36 weeks 3 days, Doctor's Appointment

Update:

Blood Pressure: 112/74
Fetal Heart Rate: 142
Measuring: 37cm
Weight: +1.5lbs (Ugh, since LAST THURSDAY??)
...
And now for the fun part:

1cm dialated and 50% effaced!

Yes, I know you can walk around for weeks and weeks with that amount of progress, but the doctor said, "not a bad way to start things off"

So that is good :)

We're ready, sitting here twiddling our thumbs, waiting for our little son to make his grand entrance. It is kind-of amazing. I never thought I would be so calm and collected about it. I mean, there is a baby coming in less than 4 weeks *hopefully* and I'm not running around like a wild woman. Everything is ready and I'm just waiting for baby to tell us it is time. I've been blessed with such a wonderful pregnancy, with very few reasons to complain, and with the continued hope that the last 3 1/2 weeks will be the same! I'm using these last few weeks as a time of reflection on the past 9 months, how our lives have changed, how our friends and family have blessed us, and what a MIRACLE the birth of a baby really is. Ok... so now I'm getting a little deep here, I guess I'll stop. I just keep remembering what my mom said to me the night that my Uncle Clair passed away, "I'm so sad, but I'm so happy. One life is lost, another little life is coming. Uncle Clair was just making room in the family for the new baby. He would've loved him so much. Just like we all do."

So sweet.

*loveya!
